Re: Game-ready model shops
Balosh,
Awesome collection of 'model ready shops'! Thanks for posting this!
Madfox95,
Not all of these are available for free, but there may be a few free downloads on their pages if you want to experiment with them. Be sure to read the licensing that comes with the models if you intend on using a model for something more than personal use.
Everyone,
Also notice my topic to get 'free blender models' to play with also: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=108
Attn: Calimer & Hirato,
The frogames.net link below has a very cool 'Dungeon Pack'. Also under licensing it says:

Perhaps Calimer could get one of these packs to use in his 'educational environment'... (Might be no cost or might be very low cost). Also just telling these people about our project may interest them and they may offer something nice in their interest of what we are doing. ((Food for thought))"Education License - Frogames provides educational licenses and prices for schools. For more information contact us at contact@frogames.com.

Re: Game-ready model shops
I'd want to get future releases up to scratch to fit with the definitions of debian-free, which means we're going to have to be rather uptight of whatever art we accept...
unless they allow us to redistribute the files, altered in whatever way we want, and allow subsequent distribution and redistribution by third parties, it won't work out

This is not a url, clicking it is pointless

Or, in a nutshell, GPL v2 licensed.Hirato wrote:I'd want to get future releases up to scratch to fit with the definitions of debian-free, which means we're going to have to be rather uptight of whatever art we accept...

Re: Game-ready model shops
just one of many acceptable licenses
other examples include public domain, CC_BY, CC_BY_SA or zlib
http://people.debian.org/~bap/dfsg-faq.html
this is the debian free FAQ if you'd like to read a bit more
and the main reason for wanting commercial distribution from the above FAQ

# Q: Can I say "You must not charge [much] money for distributing the program"?
A: This is non-free. We want Debian to be distributed by for-profit CD vendors and improved by corporate resellers. We can only include programs whose authors allow this.
For many users buying Debian on disks is more convenient (and cheaper) than downloading. For-profit distribution is the most reliable and convenient way to ensure that Debian disks are easily available everywhere where there is a demand. Because everyone can download the CD images and start producing their own disks, competition ensures that nobody will make an undeserved fortune distributing Debian.
