Its rather odd 2.5 lets me play Sandbox more easily rather than 2.4 its weird but cool. The only thing i noticed wrong is many models weren't indexed in the model list in game such as Radders art models.

I could reproduce the r_teleport crash, it was a classic case of "my bad" :D

that's been fixed

the rest aren't reproducible

I just installed Sandbox 2.5 on Ubuntu 9.10.

When in game mode, whenever I enter or leave water, the game crashes out (as in the application quits).

Otherwise I love it. Just wish I could swim.

I'm on kubuntu 9.10 and have never seen a crash from jumping in and out of water.
Are you running advanced desktop effects?(ie compiz)
If so id turn them off while running games, causes pretty much any game will crash,
at least using gnome.

I've got all the desktop effects turned off, as far as I can tell (The effects are turned off under the 'Appearance' settings, and I can't see compiz running as a process). Is there anything else I should look for?

I went back into the 'fishtest' map and tried again. The first time I had just allowed myself to surface and it crashed. The second time I exited the water by climbing out with no effect, but when I walked back in it crashed. I've done this a few times now, it's consistent.

Thanks for the kubuntu info. I suppose I could try booting into the kdesktop environment and see if that helps. EDIT: I just realized that I never bothered to set that up. Nevermind... Nothing to see here...

Just to recap, and in case the last post was misconstrued, this problem (crashing when entering water) happens consistently on my box, running Ubuntu 9.10 using the Gnome desktop. I am unable to test if this bug is reproducible on KDE.

I also tried installing on a Windows box and it worked fine, but that was with the Windows specific build.

Have you tried disabling shaders, by any chance?

here's a website bug... i cant register at the old forum. the only reason i want to register at the old forum is to request 3 features:
the ability to save/compile exe
and a way to teleport between maps
and importing a bump map (I'm not talking about the height map feature.)

Registration at the old forum was disabled as it was superseded by this one.
