Trouble with access at school?

Post by kweston »

I just got Sandbox Education version downloaded to my computer but I can't seem to save anything. Someone told me it may be a problem with my accessibility. Has anyone run in to that problem?

You lack write privs to wherever you extracted the program.
Either run it as administrator or move it elsewhere, like your desktop.
This is not a url, clicking it is pointless

Do I activate write privileges within the game? Or do I talk to the tech guys about that. I know I don't have administrative access in general because they have to approve all software downloads and push them to my computer from the district office.

I really appreciate the help!

That's a user/operating system thing, so you'd talk to the tech guys.
They'll probably say no, so the best alternative is probably to edit the bat files that run the different versions of sandbox.

Inside the bats you should see a fragment that looks like: -qmy_stuff
Have them change every instance like so, WITH QUOTES: "-q$HOME/My Games/Sandbox"
On Windows, $HOME is expanded by sandbox into the user's "My Documents" folder.

Ok, I had the tech guy read your response and he is working on it. It sounds like it may be a problem with my access as a teacher instead of an administrator of the system. There are some other parts of the program that don't seem to work yet either, so hopefully we will get it figured out! Oh the potential!
