Making buildings?

I have been trying to make structures for a while now and i have so much trouble making a roof. I make my structures by raising the ground and making a square out of it is that even the right way? But i have so much trouble making a roof thats not flat any help please?

hold down q and scroll your mouse wheel....

ya i tired that and it doesnt do anything, i know just scrolling the mouse wheel raises the ground but when i hold q nothing happens.

q + mousewheel.. Also the third mouse button is good for making slopes. We have some more information in the FAQ. Take care.
