Make a new thread in this forum when posting your content:
viewforum.php?f=23

To hide the Sandbox Hud including the FPS, crosshair and editing info use the command /hidehud 1 and hidehud 0 to get it back!

Best New Logo: The goal is to create a new logo for us to replace our current one at the top left of this page (512X512 is a good size and be able to scale down to 165X165 and smaller):
http://sandboxgamemaker.com/wiki/index. ... =Main_Page

The logo should also look good at a small resolution. We prefer the image to be in the .png or .svg format. Beyond just artistic quality, the winning logo should also capture the spirit of Sandbox, which includes being able to easily create whatever your imagination holds. Also it should intrigue people and interest them in learning more about Sandbox.

Best TeeShirt Design:
We'd love to have some teeshirts and other merchandise and we are looking for a nice design! The design must fit a PNG image that is 10" X 10 " set at least 200 DPI though you don't need to fill all the space, just make it look good within those dimensions. A front and back are possible. You can download a template image with the specifications here (make sure to save it as a png):
http://www.cafepress.com/content/si/tem ... pparel.zip
Also please check the extra tips especially:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/i ... aspx#extra

Entries should have SandboxGameMaker.com on the back of the shirt and potentially on the front. Mentioning that it is a free game maker is also a good idea. Additionally if possibly try to design it so that it can work on both black and white shirts. Top entries will be those that catch attention and will entice people to check out Sandbox. You are certainly able to have creative free reign but try to keep it kid friendly. Remember the idea is to capture people's attention and interest, and to get them to come to the Sandbox site.

Best Promotional Video:
We're looking for good trailers, commercials, and funny commercials to help people learn about Sandbox. Ideas for trailers could be showing off the ease of use and the beautiful maps and various gamemodes. Hardly any video has even been done yet on the excellent maps Cavern and rpg_snow. Also our development version of the sidescroller has received a lot of updates and should be considered showcasing.

To record the actual commercials Sandbox has an in game movie recording option, type /movie to start recording and /movie to stop. As a note the filesize can increase quite quickly since the videos are uncompressed. Also you might want to try the last free version of Fraps, though it doesn't record sound:
http://platinumarts.net/fraps19d.exe For editing virtualdub is a nice choice (and apparently you can record with it too) http://www.virtualdub.org/ Windows MovieMaker also seems to be another popular choice and it is included with XP and up I think.

For commercials you have free reign as long as it is relatively kid friendly. This is an idea I had for a commercial that you are certainly willing to play with. It features vintage infomercial kitchen type setting with a zombie as the character on screen responding to the narrator:
"Depressed? Got the blues? (zombie nods) There is one fix that is sure to cheer you up, cookies! (zombie looks up with a happy grunt) Have you ever dreamed of owning your own stack of soft warm delicious cookies? (lots of happy grunts) Now is your chance! For the low price of voting for Sandbox, your cookie dreams can come true! This is a limited time offer, get your cookies while they last!" and the zombie can be shown going after the cookies and biting them and whatever other randomness.

Final Message:
Thanks for your interest and support of our project! We are very excited to see your entries and we hope to have more contests like this in the future so sign up for our newsletter to keep posted! Good luck!

The video can be as long or short as you want. Please upload it youtube to show it off and make sure the title starts with Platinum Arts Sandbox Free 3D Game Maker (though if this is a problem we can talk) and that http://sandboxgamemaker.com is the first part of the details. The original compressed video file you need to please upload to sendspace or a similar hosting place for me to get. Thanks for your interest! Take care.

It is technically considered a download, and is managed via Steam, a digital distribution service. You'll need a Steam account in order to play the game, however it is free to create an account. The game is associated with your Steam account and not your computer, so if you login on another computer you still have the ability (and the legal right) to play your game.

I'm thinking about extending this contest to Monday the 18th, 8pm EST so that people have the weekend + Martin Luther King Day. What do you guys/gals think? Does this help anyone? Take care.
