Cork279's Sandbox Music Packs

Post by cork279 »

SandPLANET basically implies it's a big music pack. There's also a new mini music pack.

What I've done is make the Orkmoth soundtrack into a music pack, so it doesn't go to waste, then merged it with my first 2 music packs, and added 2 extras, to make this huge music pack. Currently in the .mp3 format, .ogg version to come. I may have accidently left the file extensions on a few of tracks in CAPS, this may cause certain tracks not to work (Or it may not be a problem because tracks with .MP3 in caps work fine for me...), just change them to lowercase if they don't work. Readme included with download. Licensing simply CC-BY (Creative Commons Attribution - i.e. you are free to share, adapt and make commercial use of the tracks, providing you give some credit to the author, me).

List O' Ye tracks:
1. Brilliance**
2. Wild**
3. Blue
4. Taunt**
5. Truth**
6. Secrets**
7. Agent
8. Jingle**
9. Mystic Highway*
10. Murmurs in the Wind*
11. Simple Revolution*
12. Urban Groove*
13. Discobox
14. Year Chime*
15. Discocube
16. Sandcastle*
17. Trepid Strike*
18. Terror Part 1
19. Terror Part 2
20. The Empire
21. Arx Arcis
22. Tribal
23. Epic War (Trepid Strike Extended 'A')
24. Trees
25. The Battle
26. Mythic*
27. Valiant Defeat (Trepid Strike Extended 'B')
28. Escape
29. Dark Synth
30. Shopping with Zombies*

*In the mini music pack.
**Has been added to the Sandbox 2.7.1 release.

These are great Corey.
Very nice, perfect stuff for game tunes.
Really nice work mate, very nicely done.

Keep those coming, I thoroughly enjoy listening to them as I world-build in Sandbox.
I leave'm runnin', and folks hear the songs as they come and go around here sometimes.
I've had some nice comments on your tunes, good stuff man, good stuff.

Sincerely,
- Tony

Well, he said it was a large collection.
It is all of his songs that are in the game now, plus a bunch of new ones.

Pretty darn cool stuff.

Thanks again Corey.

Thanks guys :D

Some tracks I wasn't quite sure on, such as 'Jingle', though it might be because I don't like that sort of music (jazz).
Do the tracks, 'brilliance' and 'wild' play OK for you guys, cause for some reason those 2 play at a really slooooow tempo for me, but only in Sandbox, for some really weird reason :?
Also, finally, should I bother making a .ogg version of the pack? Cause .ogg's are bigger than .mp3's so the file size would be pretty huge. The only advantage is .ogg's run more smoothly in Sandbox.

PS. Tony, your profile pic looks similar to mine, smiley faces ftw

If the .ogg run smoother, I'd go with that.
File size is something to consider, but if it stutters or lags on a local machine, that's not so good either.

I haven't had any issues with these running bad. Some of them are a bit low in volume, or high in volume... I mean the dynamics are a bit dramatic. In other words, an intro to a song makes me wanna lean towards the speakers to hear it, and then it sets me back in my seat when it gets going good =)

But that's dynamics, I can live with it.

..and Heck yeah.. Smilies FTW :D

@Cork: that is definitely great music. I don't know much about it, so I think I'll leave the .ogg vs. .mp3 to you. Perhaps a poll?

@Tony + Cork: I noticed the smiley thing as well, it's kinda funny.

All the Cool Kids haz Smiley Cubes fer icons, gah.

I saw his, and just made mine up last night.
I had to have my old icon back.
I used to use one just like this a long time ago, in a faraway galaxy,
...on a phpBB support forum just like this one.

I used to write skins and mods for these things back in the day.
I told ya guys, I'm not new to this stuff, just been away from it for a few years.

I actually got to where I preferred SimpleMachines for forum-ware, rather than the phpBB.
I have no idea what it's like now though:
http://www.simplemachines.org/

But yeah, all the Cool Kids haz a Smiley Icon, fer sher dood.

When I convert music. with SoundConverter (Linux) the ogg is smaller then the mp3
And there is even the possibility to shrink it (lower quality music doesn't really sound different from original).
By the way, does Sandbox support .flac?
