I've got a bit of a problem with spells in 2.6.1.
I had the previous 2.5 version and the fireball spell in it had more...substance. It seems 2.6.1 just shoots a light, with no fireball model?
So i looked at the fireball spell under the data\rpg\games\default\items\ folder and changed r_useitem_effect, so now I shoot a different particle but still no fireball.
I've looked over and over again but still haven't found anything pointing to a model.
So I'm wondering: how do you attach a model to the spell? Or is 2.6.1 just glitching?

Wahmo, apparently the developers for Sandbox have either:
1) Removed the animation for the fireball
2) Changed the spell so it doesn't require animation
3) Completely removed the old fireball spell and created a new spell which has nothing to do with animations
So no, 2.6.1 is not glitching. If you wanted to add a animation try adding a projectile to it.

Why, though, did the game makers make it alot harder to add spells in 2.6.1? 2.5 has no monsters in it..... which means no real fun with my megaflare spell!!! Unless someone knows how to add enemies to the rpg mode of 2.5, I am going to work on adding one spell into 2.6.1....

Actually, the current SVN for Sandbox has AI (check out Marystorm.bat) and would be the ideal place to start.
