Re: DEVELOPMENT POLL: Names or Indices?

I think the easy modabilty is the strength of the original Sauerbraten Engine and the reason why it is still popular. For RPG mode the modding support needs to be extended, yes. Also for me as scripter it totally sucks. This, my friend, can be solved by adding in the mod support yourself with some ...

Re: DEVELOPMENT POLL: Names or Indices?

First off, you're right. A programmer will tell you performance is very important. Secondly, what features will be missing? From what I understand, I'm assuming you mean modability. Since the general population of PAS users will not be looking to make moddable games, I think it's safe to go towards ...

Re: DEVELOPMENT POLL: Names or Indices?

A wild java.x.beast appears! I have returned to my beloved forum! Anyways, here's my two cents on the subject. I have to agree with Hirato on this one. While it may be easier to use strings for names, indices would be far better because of memory. In the time I've been gone, I've studied a lot about...

Re: How to create an .exe build of project?

Couldn't you package the PAS Launcher exe and modify it so it opens up your first map on start? Just an idea...you might still need the folders but I'm not sure. My guess is there isn't a way to do this yet, at least to the extent of my knowledge. EDIT: http://code.google.com/p/convert-folder-into-e...

Re: Java's Calculator

Thanks :D I've updated this project a long time ago and the password protect system is now working, complete with a function that stores the password deep inside the darkest corners of your PC for later use. I'm going to work on adding several other things including quadratic equation solver and Pyt...

Re: Where do I learn how to program for PAS

Doesn't take long to learn the basics, but takes a long while to become a master at it. I am currently working on an FPS+CubeScript tutorial series(which is taking forever to upload to youtube). It is a notepad tutorial, mind you. I lost my headset a while back and still haven't found it. I WAS work...
