For movie making or you want to run around your map with no crosshair here is the console command in edit mode.
crosshairsize 0 to turn off
crosshairsize 15 is pretty close to the default size.

It's good to see that the resources are still quite a bit of help to the Sandbox community and to see some others recommended too. I'm been gone for mmm, a year at least, family health issues... Sculptris, you would have to "retopo" the exported obj file to a low polygon model to get it in...

Grim ,I am been keeping things simple as it is easier to uv map one object then create a single texture map and with a 1024 texture image size you should be able to get plenty detail in the charactor for Sandbox. In the long run it is learning by doing. There a number of ways to plan, design, model,...
