you can switch the view inside the game by using:

thirdperson [0...2]
thirdpersondistance [distance]

there are two ways to use it. booth need some tweaking as well. 1. you can import the bhv as armature for your model. then turn off some IPO curves you dont need, e.g. location of the hips to stop the movement of the armature. rotate it if needed. 2. if you have already an exisiting armature for you...
