I'm not sure how to create a ramp or an angle if I use a laptop's touchpad. I don't have a mouse with a scroll wheel. How should I make ramps or angles?

When ever I open huge maps (saved) everything goes slower when ever the screen has to show alot of things at one time. The screen seems to move faster when not alot of things are not in view.
