Ive recently been testing my ability to create scripts for sandbox. and I thought. well... theres map codes, game codes, engine codes, but wheres the app codes? I decided to start making some. My recent "Crosshairs Menu" was a hit with most people. But then I accidentally created a screen recorder during my experiments. I fine tuned it and created the "Sandbox Recorder" its able to record everything you see on your screen in sandbox and save it in your "mystuff" folder under your specified name. Well, im currently developing a new app. Its a secret for now and the first people to know will be anyone who gives me Ideas for some more apps. For each idea, assign a name, describe its features, and mention the layout.

for example:

Name: Easy Monster
Features: Easily create monster entities within a selected area
Layout: Buttons and Tabs (ornumber, eg 4)

Get it?

Heres a list of each option available for the Layout:

• 1: Tabs
  2: Buttons
  3: Simple
  4: Buttons and Tabs
  5: Seperate gui menus

Any Ideas are welcome although they must be reasonable.

I have several scripts i would like to see implemented into sandbox, I'll list them below.

1. A Script to make stairs for you, it takes so long to make every single step in Sandbox. I don't know how hard this would be to make but i know its possible because I've seen it done in other cube 2 mods.

2. Like you and others suggested a tab to make quick monsters.

3. Character creator with a dialogue included, the script would just allow you to choose a player model plus give you a option if you want it to say anything.

4. This is a big one for me...a script to make angles, such as circles, curves etc. Every one knows it takes "Forever" to make any kind of shape in sandbox, so a script to let you choose which shape you want and how big you want it would be a dream come true.

5. A simple script to calculate the light, geometry etc in one single click.

6. Random model dropper script?...let me explain, lets just say you want to make a forest?, you could use the random model dropper to have it placed randomly everywhere across the map...of course you would also have to set a boundary which it can drop within. I'm sure this would save a lot of time but then again it matters how its created it also could be a big hassle.

7. New and improved picture script?, letting you choose the dimensions and maybe a timer?...And not really necessarily but maybe a format option JPG, PNG etc


8. I haven't really seen Sandbox "Requirements" and many people have asked for them so what about a script to scan your systems specs and inform you what you need to upgrade?

Right. Answers to your ideas.

1: Im currently working on the stairs script

2: The monsters tab will have to wait.

3: Character Creator and dialog assign script would take a lot.

4: Angle Script. It may Be possible so ill have a look.

5: that would be a key assign script. its already available, press CTRL+K, although, with my new script the Keybind will no longer work so ill assign a new one. or even create a MAP EDIT menu that has calclight, ents, models, materials, textures etc.

7: hm... that to take pictures for use in the map preview picture?

8: That would be complicated.

theres a few you forgot.

An autosave feature. Type in /autosave and the engine saves your map for you and instantly alerts you upon save.

Im taking the calclight idea and using that to create an EASY EDIT menu with everything you need.

Just give me time I'm sure I'll have more script ideals.

new idea: make ladders climbable and the possibility to make it longer with just scrolling

so thats just a modification for the auto stairs code?
