For the last project in school this year, we are supposed to make something that relates to anything we learned about, something really specific, or something general. Having done my previous thesis paper on Cathedrals, I decided to continue with that theme and build a cathedral with Sandbox. Due to a bit of confusion however, my project was started late, but I still hope to get the majority of it done on time. Thus, you'll be seeing plenty of updates, versions, and pictures (maybe even a demo video!) in the next several days.

The Cathedral I'm basing mine off of is the cathedral in Chartres in France: Chartres Cathedral in Google Maps
And here are some visuals I'm using:
Merriam Webster's Gothic Architecture Cathedral
Notre Dame

v0.2 Screenshots:

v0.2.3 Screenshot:
The Apse: v0.2.3 Eventually I'll have the railing come around this part and connect on the other side.

Fix:
Problem with Apse partially fixed.
Geometry errors.

Added:
Partial T-section for top of Cathedral.

v0.2.4 Screenshots:
The Apse: v0.2.4 I fixed the apse so it's identical on each side.
Geometry glitch I had to fix this by undo-ing some of my work. And then make sure I wouldn't make the glitch again by re-doing it.
Apse Railing: v0.2.4 The early stages.
Apse Railing: v0.2.4 Part 2 The early stages with detailing.

Fix:
Apse, now geometrically fine
Minor glitches that appeared when building railing
Small geometry errors from my first go around

Added:
Rounder Apse
Railing part way around apse
Minor Detailing

v0.2.4-v0.3.5 Screenshots
Screenshots

Fix:

Current Downloadable Version: v0.5
Any tips, or comments are more than welcome. Expect a version 3 build up and ready for play sometime soon.

Trimmed entire Cathedral
Removed massive parts of sides and top

And more...

It sounds difficult, and the visuals make it look very difficult. But, you've made a good start, and hopefully you can do it! :D
Good luck ! :P

I love Steam.

Update from in-game Steam Web Browser: I doubt I'll get a v3 build up tonight as I've only worked an hour compared to the 3 I usually work on this. You will get screenies though, and I'm pretty pleased with what was accomplished!
Fix:
Apse end of the Cathedral was fixed geometry wise.
Added:
Railing part way around. I hope to get partial detailing done.

That's all for now. Current version is v0.2.4
