Tetraformer (Cancelled)
Okay, I know I'm working on 2 games (and anothe non-sandbox game) already, but this is a side project
I'll make it in the Sandbox SSP mode, and it will be a puzzle game. I may need quite a bit of coding for this idea, but I need some practice in cubescript, so this is good.
The idea is, it's like any other platformer, mixed with a bit of Tetris. It is a puzzle game, where everything is made up of tetris blocks, at certain locations tetris blocks will fall which you can control, to fit into a gap on the map, this will hopefully complete a line of blocks, breaaking the line, maybe opening a new entrance.
If you are confused, look at this 2D concept image:
I will model all of the tetris blocks, instead of using the terrain cubes stuff.
Comment below if you want to help!

Re: Tetraformer (Tetris Platformer)
This has an interesting concept, I'm just not sure how you would pull off the blocks in Sandbox.

The blocks will be models (obj), or .md5 models animated to move, with different keys pressed.

Re: Tetraformer (Tetris Platformer)
UPDATE!
I've started the map where the game starts; You are in a room of a house, when suddenly you are shrunk, and sucked into a handheld games console laying on the table. On this console is the game "Tetraformer".
The map is about 10% complete so far
And then I also need to make the normal sized version of the map, for before he is shrunk.

Re: Tetraformer (Tetris Platformer)
maybe you could make the console a mapmodel, then later make a teleporter with it.

Re: Tetraformer (Tetris Platformer)
in case you didn't know, if you select everything you made in your map, copy it, and then decrease your grid size, (g+scroll) and then paste it, you could easily make a smaller map, as long as it's not too small, or else you lose detail

Re: Tetraformer (Tetris Platformer)
Cool, I didn't know that
Although, some things were made in the smallest grid size, so it might just disappear...
Might try that for some things though
@CP That's a good idea too, I might try it!

I'm canceling this project, due to lotsa other stuffs to do (such as orkmoth, revelade revolution, and lotsa musics to make) , and I get easily distracted

Re: Tetraformer (Cancelled)
That's too bad, Cork, seemed like a great idea. Maybe once you finish your other projects...
