this is one of the first real challenges, where you may go in, and never get out...

Image

not to be underestimated... it has 5-6 levels and 3-4 areas (depending on how you look at it)... i built this maze, and even i get lost sometimes...

Image

i may provide a cheet sheet for this one...

if you made it thru all the guards, the hundreds of rats, and got all the loot... i hope you picked up the lantern and have plenty of magic...

Image

i would save first...

Image

gotta mix it up so the player doesn't get bored... you probably just spent two days in the caves... if... you made it out at all...

first we trade our scroll for "fireball"... boo-yeahhh!!...

Image

these fellows will be covered with a passthru...

Image

i hope you figure out the code... a little less help on this one (switches)...

Image

then thru the teleport room to the next map... it seems they are expecting you...

Image

now we script... but i'll have to code some things back in, hope i can figure it out... if not (shrug)... i'll just flip the script...

So much progress in a short time. I did envy your determination and productivity. Great, can't wait to play it. ^^

Wow!! I'm really impressed with what you've created so far especially with such an old version of SB. Is there a reason you don't use the rpg stuff from 2.8.x? I really want to get things moving forward for a new release of SB and so I am very interested in what is working and what isn't working for people. Take care!

well thats just the thing mike... i can zip thru level design with the old gui system, but it's a real challenge to use the old rpg system... and to try to incorporate the new system in may prove to be... well... a challenge...

in 2.7 there really wasn't a good working inventory system etc, but it is do-able... but being as level design is the same in both, i may move my maps into 2.8... trying to write the newui into gui may prove less-possible than my beginner status can handle...

it is a poser, and i'm gonna have to think on this a bit... the old menu system for talks and chats and shops is much cleaner and appealing to the eye... but the new system is more complete... nothing personal, but i just don't like the newui...

i prefer the old system and i will start there... but i may have to (ugggg)... i'm gonna have to think on this one...

that was the easy part for me wind astella... this is a rather simple map with very few self-made models, and i did cut corners... i rather enjoy the simplified geometry and ease of creation... as to whether this will ever reach a playable gamestate... only time will tell...

but since i really have no pressing matters for the foreseeable future, well... it keeps me entertained... but not to be misunderstood, i don't accept defeat gracefully... there are always choices... i have a stubborn determination that has served me well in this lifetime... and i do enjoy a challenge...
