I would like to use some different blendmap textures. Is there a way to combine existing textures to use as a blendmap or do I have to make new ones? If so, how do i make my own blendmap textures?

Here's a link to a page that should answer a few questions about blending, among other useful things...

In the texture menu, any of the textures that show a small 'box' with another texture for that slot is set up for texture blending.
It also works with textures that have autograss set.... really good for trails and paths
