Translation from English into Russian. Problem.

Hello Developers !

I want to translate sandbox menu and console text to Russian and i found problem.
I couldn't add cyrillic chars to system. I tried to extend file chars.png bellow

( 512x1024 instead of 512x512 ) and to add new char images. I tried to add new
strings in file font.cfg. That all were without any result. I could see only

spaces without russian chars.
I can involve russian chars instead of latin chars but i think it is not good way
for program localization.

Can you help me ? Do you know way to add cyrillic chars ?

P.S. I work with PuppyRus Linux 1.3.0 ( clone of Puppy Linux )

we simply don't support unicode at the moment
if it was as easy as extending chars, we would've done it.

translations are currently also somewhat deprecated.
