New Question

It's a long story, but basically I accidentally saved my current work over a blank map (thus losing that entire week of work). I was wondering on how I could use my most recent .bak and .cfg file (the save before my recent save) to load the older save before I went and made the big mistake.

I've looked around everywhere, but I can't seem to find an answer on it. I've tried deleting the most recent .bak and .cfg files, but the .ogz file still seems to load the blank map. Is there some kind of process where I have to execute the .bak file to save onto the ogz to restore my old map again, or is it much more complicated than that?

lets wait for Hirato to answer this cos they're might be a way. But last time this happened to me I gave up and started it all over again.

However a tip for in future, save your work under 2 save files (e.g. "Map1" and "Map1backup")

that way if you accidentally overwrite one you're still safe.

Haha, yeah, I'll take note of that in the future.

I actually solved the problem. All you have to do is take the .BAK file, and change the filetype to .OGZ. It works like a charm now.

However, I do have another question, and it would be how to set up my own map for a multiplayer mode. I put up a server, click on my map to load, but it says it failed and only loads a blank map. I'd appreciate it if I could be shown a way to make it available for others to play on.

Don't think servers work yet, not sure.

Again, Hirato will know more.

Next time you make a map be sure to have a copy and move that out of the Sandbox folder so it doesn't get over written.

Actually, the *.BAK file and the recent *.cfg files are there ready for you to use incase this does happen. if you right click on your most recent *.BAK file and select rename, the .BAK part should pop up at the end of your highlighted area, delete that and replace it with .ogz, Delete your accidental save and its config and it should work.
