How in heaven's name do i put the thing in windowed mode?

i've checked around here and elsewhere and found nothing extensive. i can't really work well with the software if it's fullscreened.

Quick answer - look in the options (main menu, where you would load a map from).

Long answer, if you open it using the launcher then you can choose the resolution. Make it one smaller than your screen size (allow for any panels, status bars, etc) and it will come in as windowed.
