Ok so I was making a map on Sandbox where I decided to put in a creature. Everything seemed fine until when I left editmode and the creature wasn't there. Thinking I messed something up I went back into editmode and the creature reappeared and for some reason the game ended. After a while I was sent out of the map for some reason but not before I (for some reason, don't know what I was thinking) saved. Now every time I go back in the map the game ends immediately. I can't move, even in editmode and after a few seconds I get sent out of my map. What did I do (so I don't do it next time) and how do I fix it?

well, you may have put the creature over/in/next to lava or the respawn material. An annoying part of monsters is that the game ends when you kill them.

I do believe that I have put the monster over lava. Is there any way to fix this/get rid of the monster?

Move your monster from the lava?/get rid of it.

I have put the monster out of sight from where you first start the map and as I said I cannot move in either normal mode or edit mode. I also get taken out of the map about 10-15 sec after I start so that eliminates a lot of my options. Am I missing something (Don't know TOO much about sandbox so I don't know any ways to delete stuff other than going over to it, clicking it and pressing delete )

When you get taken out of the map do you mean out of the application itself?

I mean the actual game I'm playing. I get taken to a blank map with nothing on it. I assume that it is as chocolate said: all the monsters are dead so the game is over.

Well, monsters chase after you on sight, so... I don't know. If you want to delete the map, free up some space, go to Sandbox2.5, then my_stuff, then packages, base, then select the files with your map's name on it. Then delete them.

I don't really want to delete my map unless I absolutely have to. Are you sure there's no other way?

Where did you place the characters starting area?
