PAS 2.6 closing after loading map

I am using PAS on a windows XP home (i think, does it matter) edition. when i open up PAS using "CLICK_ME_TO_START.bat" it loads the menu GUI fine. when I open a map in the gamemaker, the whole map loads, and then instantly shuts down. no error messages, no frozen computer, it just closes the entire gamemaker. it also does this when I open the kartmode bat file, but it doesn't show the GUI at all.

why you use "CLICK_ME_TO_START.bat"? You better use "Sandbox Launcher"

Its not the launcher (i don think it is) its loading a map.
