So what do I do?
How can I download it so I can edit with my friend on it.
Also when we save will have to be downloaded again to edit it together again.

First, what are your system info?
Second, what is your internet speed (don't have to post this, but consider this)
Third, What version of PAS?
Fourth, did you port forward?

And for the first 3, it might be useful to post your friend's info

your friend will type /sendmap
you and anyone else will type /getmap (the server will tell you when)

First you need to be in a server, if you don't know how to, see Dalton's tutorial, when you're both online on the right IP, you can type /coop *mapname* to show a map *mapname* is your mapname (use caps if needed), then the other person types /map *mapname*, mapname is the mapname the other person typed, if you typed it right, the person of who is the map should be in the map, that person needs to type /sendmap to send the map to the other player, he needs to type /getmap to see the map, hope this helps

I know that error, that's because you are in mp, but you are alone in your server, if you get another person to help you, you can get in edit mode

So if they are not in my server how do they?

No idea, but Mp is multiplayer i believe

they need to join the IP of the server, when you are with 2 people or more, you can edit the map, read my post above about /sendmap and /getmap to work together in a map
