Dear All

I wonder if anyone else has come across this problem. One of our Games tutor at the college runs platinum arts sands box application in 2 classrooms. Since upgrading all college PC's to windows 7. He has noticed the frames rates drop to 1 per second, he has turned shading off but still no joy, we have also tried the latest version of the app and running in compatibility xp mode. The PC hardware has not changed the only change is windows 7. The program ran fine when the OS was XP.

Many Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Paul

If youre using ATI (2*** Radeon series), it has some major problems. I think Im the main tester for ATI cards... I usually push mine to the limit.

Usually updating them fixes it, but 64 bit has some compatability issues. I dont think your school would want to fork out an extra $4000 or so for new graphics cards (Nvidia), So I would suggest dropping down to trusty old 32 bit. I use Windows 7 32 bit, ATI 2400 Radeon HD Pro, Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz, RAM: 2.00 GB. 2.5 Disagrees with my computer, It has high FPS, usually around 200 or so... But crashes after 15 minutes. 2.6 works and always has done. Its usually the ATI card that hates the future. Suggest either Upgrading to Nvidia, or updating the Nvidia cards, or downgrading to Windows 7, 32 bit.

Hope this Helps.
