Your problem is actually your OS. Sandbox 2.4-2.6 will not work on Macs unless you compile it yourself.

But, then what do I do? Is there one that will work, because I have tried 2.6.1 and I forget but I think i had a problem with that to (but I had no idea what i was doing), but should it work then?

Unfortunately not. Like I said, you'll need to compile it.

It seems that a lot of people are interested in running the latest version on Mac. Is there anyone who can explain how to compile it? Running an older version does not seem to be a viable work-around, on my computer at least; version 2.3 quits as soon as I launch it.

If you download code::blocks for mac, then you could rebuild it. THe other thing that you could do is download xcode and build it from that.
