apologies, didn't realize i couldn't delete this post or would have simply edited this one, rather than reposting to clarify the problem.
When I select edit mode, the cursor changes from a + sign to the weird L. But the little white box that shows you which tile is going to be changed doesn't appear so I can't tell what area I'm going to be editing. It shows up when I'm looking at the sky but not on the ground. Any idea how to fix this, I've tried restarting and re-downloading.
