Particle Viewing Distance Issues

Hello there! I have a problem with particle viewing distance in one of my larger maps. Does anyone know a code that can extend how far away you see particles?

you can type in '/maxparticledistance 3000' or a suitably high number to make farther particles appear.

just out of curiosity, where did you find that command? (I keep learning about new commands, and I don't know where people find'em.)
