I've installed my Platinum Arts program into Program Files x86.

I am having problems with saving my maps and game. It says "Error cannot write save map." To the respective Packages folders.

My friend has the same kind of computer and she told me hers save maps and games just fine.

Why is that?

How do you save your maps? with the command or in the menu (under esc), in which mode are you (FPS/RPG/other), what is your operating system and which version of Platinum Arts Sandbox you have? (for example: 2.7 Multiplatform)

It's likely that Sandbox can't access the folder to save the file in due to administrative privileges and such. That's what happened to me when I first got 2.7. Try placing it on your desktop.

It has nothing to do with OS or anything else of that nature.

I have installed it into Program files x86 and that was the cause of the problem. So I uninstalled it and re-installed the game maker into Documents and it solved the problem.

Everything is working now.

If your looking at a Windows System, You can change the Folder Icon to any .ico format image, and use the same for the shortcut ... most Install builders are just a self extracting Zip, that adds the main folder with all its contents to the c:\Program files directory, and a shortcut in the "all users\ start menu\ all programs" directory or "all users\ Desktop" directory. You can also change the Icon of a Zip file .... they're still folders and Zip files .... they just don't look like they are !!!
