I just downloaded the 2.7.1 release and extracted it on my system.
It works fine here, so I don't know what's up with your systems

Code: Select all

[hirato@Alexander][~/test]% unzip PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1Multiplatform.zip
Archive: PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1Multiplatform.zip
   creating: PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1/
[etc]

[hirato@Alexander][~/test]% cd PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1
[hirato@Alexander][~/test/PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1]% chmod +x sandbox_unix
[hirato@Alexander][~/test/PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1]% ./sandbox_unix
./sandbox_unix: line 132: ./bin/sandbox_client_64_fps: Permission denied
[hirato@Alexander][~/test/PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1]% chmod +x bin/sandbox_client_*
[hirato@Alexander][~/test/PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1]% ./sandbox_unix
Using home directory: /home/hirato/.platinumarts/
init: sdl
init: net
[etc]
I will again repeat that as far as the layout of the binaries and the contents of sandbox_unix is concerned, they are absolutely 100% the exact same as the 2.7.0 release

Hirato,

I realize that this problem is frustrating and I sense that you are annoyed. I can understand that, and you have every right to be. If I were confronted by someone like me with a similar problem, I would probably react the same way. I know you are trying your best to help, and I seem to be making your task more difficult.

I will attempt to download another copy of 2.7.1. Perhaps I missed something the first time.

In regards to this issue, I apologize for being a bother.

I really do appreciate all the help you have offered. This noob thanks you. Could you please close this "topic" as I do not know how.

Regards

J
