Don't want to play as character...but rather first person

Hey everyone,
So up until now, I've been editing and playing the game in first person...without any characters as if I am in the game. Today, all of a sudden, a robot has appeared in edit mode and game mode. Does anyone know how to change it back? This would be much appreciated.
