2.3 rpg mode?

Hello! It's me again . . . With another noob-ish question. Sorry! ._.'
Anyway, I have a mac 10.3.9, and sandbox 2.3. I want to start playing around with RPG mode, but nothing seems to work. Entering "run around" mode seems to make some quests pop up, but there are no NPCs to give them out. I want to start with a fresh, clean slate though. How exactly do I do that? (Aka go into rpg mode.) Also, my launcher does not work. It always tells me to delete weird characters in the path.

I'd say you've more or less answered your own question.
Firstly the RPG module was first introduced in 2.4 - it has advanced a lot since then.

Secondly, I'm not even sure if the mac builds even include a binary for the RPG Module.
OS X kind of is the red-headed stepchild among the development team, afterall.
While we do appear to have a maintainer for the mac builds, to my knowledge he only builds for the FPS module and not the others.

In any case, if you really want to use the experimental RPG module, you're probably going to need to do one of the following...
1. Install Linux or Windows inside a virtual machine and use this for sandbox (easiest)
2. install Linux or Windows on your mac and dual boot into it (best performance, can have dire consequences)
3. Download the 2.4 or newer sources (2.7.1 is advised) and compile the binary yourself (hardest, will probably provide good performance too)

Disclaimer: I am not particularly up to date as far as the mac side of things go.

If 2.4 is supported on mac 10.3.9, I'll do number three. If you have any information on HOW to do this binary thing,(I have no idea what it is.) It would be greatly appreciated. I can't get a new computer, and I have NO IDEA how to use a virtual machine, because I tried using WINE or something else, but it didn't work. So unless I can afford an almost 900 dollar computer, I'll have to do number three.

Like said, few of us here really know anything about mac, but I can help you with the compiling part of it. Maybe.

Anyways, compiling binaries just means taking the bits and pieces that make up a program and slapping them together into the program itself. this is done through compiling (and usually requires a compiler. obviously.)

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=mac+compiling

I'd look at that along with xcode stuff, specifically the apple developer link and the compiling on mac osx part.

I would use XCode to compile sandbox on a mac

btw calimar, I think that we need to have the sandbox binaries in the mac app store

@jsoft: about the mac app store - I'd read this first: http://lifehacker.com/5726764/why-the-m ... tore-sucks (especially the part at the end, about VLC), along with looking at this:https://developer.apple.com/programs/ma ... ution.html

OK, I'll try to compile to binaries, if this is at all possible on my computer. (It's really old for a mac X3)

Bump. (For a question)

(Yes, I know double posting is frowned upon.)

X code is not available for OS panther. (10.3.9) Is there another program? (YES, I have googled it. I found: nothing.) Thanks, leaf :3
