I've just got the latest svn set up to play again, but the mouse control/ crosshair movement is changed in a way I do not like; the mouse moves the crosshair around without moving the camera except when you try to go past the screen edges.
I don't like it that much, to be honest.

is there a setting or toggle to return it to the way it worked before ( like in sauerbraten or red_eclipse )?

There isn't anything like that right now (I'll attempt it on thursday). I'll probably bind it to the TAB key.

Anyways, the deal with that control scheme is to facilitate on screen menus to help with editing, ie, a small left aligned menu with a list of models, textures, and a nice and easy "quickedit" for entities; etc.
I haven't gotten around to those yet but the new UI system makes this a cinch!
