Can't make the brushes work.

Hello.Im a newbie.
I would like to test the brushes on my map.
How do these things work? I tried using them but nothing happens.

Blendmap brushes or heightmap brushes?

blendmap brushes are used by going into paint mode [P]. Make sure you are painting on a texture with blending enabled.
Heightmap brushes are used by going into heightmap mode [H], and new brushes can be accessed via F3. Or at least, that's how it used to be. I haven't checked for 2.8.
