"No game in progress" when trying to resume map editing.

I cannot figure out how to resume editing a map I was working on. I saved the map in F1 (edit) mode under the menu: Editing -> Misc -> Save Map As. The map name appears under the New Game -> Maps menu so I know it's saved, but I clicking on that gives me the text in the upper-left corner of my screen, "No game in progress." And there does not seem to be any other way of loading a map to resume working on it.

I am running SGM 2.8.2 on Windows 7.

I assume you're using RPG mode. You'll to start a game first from menu like the Default or mystara game. Once in the game, open the console and enter this command,

/map yourmapname

If everything goes right you will load your map.

Okay, thank you! That seems totally strange to me that you would have to load up a level first, then use the /map command ..., the /map command doesn't work the same from the main menu.

The rpg is different from the fps mode. Other than maps it also had games. You'll learn this eventually. And you're welcome.

future releases should just initialise the 'default' game in this case.

I originally did it this way because the RPG cannot figure out which game contains the actual game data from the map itself, so it was saner to force loading the game first before allowing the map.
