Platinum Arts Sandbox - Free 3D Game Maker Forum

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and I am having problems installing the Sandbox Gamemaker.

Some parts of the software where installed. I can start (not stop) the server but clicking on anything flashes the screen and nothing happens. I checked with the system monitor and only the server and launcher were in residence as a process. The only way to stop the server is to kill the process.

I searched the forum and it seems that others had somewhat similar issues but not exactly. In this case something appears to be wrong with the installer.

I may be wrong but it appears that the "PlatinumArtsSandbox2.7.1Multiplatform.zip" content is unavailable at the location described in the installer thus giving the --configure error.

According to the Software Center Canonical/Ubuntu does not maintain this resource in the Ubuntu repository. It seems to need updating. Has anyone informed the custodian of the repository of any change in download location? I'm not really sure how all that works.

Is there any relatively easy way to fix this? Until it's fixed, it seems that it's basically impossible for any Ubuntu user to download and use your software without compiling it from source.

dreamhost apparently deleted a lot of our stuff.

Don't use that package, instead just grab the tar.gz from moddb, extract it into your home directory and run it from there.

ok, just "make executeable" on launchers and install - fine now.
