Post by danielwright2311 »

Well, hello, my name is Daniel, I am a video programer and 3d artist. I make animated modles and games with dark basic pro, I downloaded this program and as soon as i ran it i fell in love. I have a couple of questions.

1. if i build a new game with this softwhare will i be able to sell it
2.does this softwhare support .x modles for direct x, and if so how do i import them in.
3.can i show and mabey sell some of my modles here

thanks for your help in advanced.

I am willing to pay for a sellers licence if its a must. :D

In regards to question number 2, Sandbox does not use DirectX at all. It uses OpenGL instead.

You are able to sell it completely without having to buy anything but any of the things you want to use that are already in sandbox you will have to go through every single license associated with them such as textures, sounds, music, models the list goes on, but the game engine it self is free :).

And i really don't know about selling your models here you will have to ask Calimer are Hirato.

after seeing the forest map, I knew i had to make a game with this. but i am lost with alot of stuff, like can i make a stand alone .exe with it, how do i import my animated modles, i see the file directory, I preety much have searched this on this fourm with a little help. so i know itrs like most game enjins to where all i need to do is export my modles right, then make my own folders for them, most lickley with a configuration file to talk to the engine. I wish there was more a real time manuel,lol. after seeing what this game engine can do im impressed.

Yes you can make a stand alone .exe, And your model must be a md2, md3 are obj format any other format wont work. And yes you have to make a simple cfg file just telling it to load the model, texture and animations.

Its all here --> http://sandboxgamemaker.com/wiki/index. ... =Main_Page

And you might want to take a look at Sandboxgamemaker's language "Cubescript" --> http://cube.wikispaces.com/Cubescript+Tutorial
