Can't use sample games! (Running PAS 2.4 on OSX)

Hello y'all, I need some help.
I want to play with the RPG Mode and Side Scroller but it won't let me load them from the game. Plz help!
P.S. Does anyone know if there's a Mac Binary for PAS 2.5? I really want to get that version for Mac OSX! Thank you.
