lo-poly character tool

Post by Captain_Ahab »

I found this script for Blender
It makes lo-poly human character meshes in a manner similar to MakeHuman

thanks for finding this.

with some changes:

adding eyes, tags, basic animations ...
we could use this as template for human characters.

will test it soon.

there's a problem on import, a kind of offset problem between skel and mesh which makes the model broken.
i try to fix this.

Re: export works

Post by offtools »

hi all,

you have to delete a bunch of vertex groups before exporting the model, their names begin with:

Bone. and Bone_

(e.g. Bone.009 of Bone.009_L)

these groups belongs to the morph targets and no longer needed (after finishing morphing).

dont delete group Bone.

you need to add animations by yourself ... sure :)
i've made a simple walkcycle for testing purpose, it works.
we just need to add the tags for the model (tag_weapon, shield muzzle).
