Whats port forwarding?

Port forwarding allows remote computers, for example, computers on the Internet, to connect to a specific computer or service within a private local area network (LAN).

In a typical residential network Internet access is obtained through a DSL or cable modem connected to a router or network address translator (NAT). Hosts on the private network are connected to an Ethernet switch or communicate via a wireless LAN. The NAT device's external interface is configured with a public IP address. The computers behind the router, on the other hand, are invisible to hosts on the Internet as they each communicate only with a private IP address.

Lets Start.
Forwarding is based on linksys router but you can still do the same on all other routers.
Questions below please post

First open CMD



Now type
ipconfig



Now at the top you will see this
Find this of course there will not be any *'s
now
copy the

DON'T X OUT OF THE CMD YET

Default Gateway192.168.1.1
code
mine is
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
so ill go ahead and put 192.168.1.1 into the url bar



Now this should pop up



Username for me is
User: Admin
Password: Admin

It could be the same for you
Just try combinations
User: Admin
Password: Leave blank

ETC ETC
If you know your parents put a user and password on router go ask it from them.

Now.. Once you are in Find applications and gaming



After that you will see some empty boxes

Something like
Application........Start......End......Protocol....IP ADRESS... ENABLE

For the application box put
Sandbox
For the Start put
28785
For end put
28786
For Protocol put
UDP

For Ip address
Now open the CMD again
You see
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.100
Put the 192.168.1.100 code into the box
if the box already has 192.168.1. in there just put the last 3 digets in there
DONT PUT MINE UNLESS ITS THE SAME

For the ENABLE = check mark

Now Click save..
Now we have to allow it threw the fire wall

Now Open Control Panel
Open System and security
Open Windows firewall

WINDOWS 7
Click advance settings

Others
Click allow program threw firewall

Now if you have windows 7 scroll down
For others
Click on add new
and should ask something about application name
Put Sandbox
Should ask for A Port put 28785
Then if it asks for UDP or TCP put UDP
Then re do the follow
BUT FOR PORT PUT 28786
Done

WINDOWS 7
Click inbound rules
Right click inbound rules
New rule

Click on PORT
Next
Click UDP
In the box put
28785
Allow the connection
Make sure all boxes are checked
Name = Sandbox
Now re do the follow put for the box put 28786

Should be all done now..

It will not let me put in my user name and password (I do not know what it is to be honest)

why you mean its not letting you?

If its not its usually just admin admin

Ermm when i type my i.p in now the popup does not work.

Are you using the IP from like ipchicken.com? or in CMD
