Dev-Textures for Map Editing.

Post by Leo_V117 »

Hey guys. Looks like this post is a Tutorial AND a resource. :D

I've been developing a few dev-textures for the past couple of days, and I managed to complete the first pack. There are a few more complicated ones to follow later on, but for now, These will do. Heres a few screenshots of what theyre capable of:
House front - Using the Window and Door dev-textures.
House front - Using the Window and Door dev-textures.
Staircase and Handrail - Using the Stairs and Stairs-Rails dev-textures.
Staircase and Handrail - Using the Stairs and Stairs-Rails dev-textures.
Staircase and Handrail 2 - Using the Rails dev-texture.
Staircase and Handrail 2 - Using the Rails dev-texture.
What do you guys think? I would also like your opinion on whether these textures should be added to PAS as a default-texture set. If you dont mind that is. ^_^
Anyways, See you around!

Can ask a question? what do you mean by "Dev-textures"? The dev- part kinda loses me. Otherwise, great work.

dev-textures -> Development Textures

I mainly use them for complicated stuff like Circles.

Well, I don't they will come in very handy for me, because I want to create something with realistic nature, and this is for houses and not realistic stuff... What about more rock textures? they would be really useful (to me at least ;))

actually, yeah, more ground/water/land/mountain/rock (just nature in general) textures would be helpful. Also some realistic house textures, like with the roof textures, they're way too big in my opinion.

so, like fantasy/fiction?

Using Real images to make a dev texture? Thats a really bad Idea.
