i played around with particles to make ground fog:
i've started with this and
"newent particles 9 256 20 0x050505 5000 2000 3000 200"
and placed the emitter inside a hill:

and this si what the gaming industry refers to as volumetric fog
I was actually giving this a try a while ago in an attempt to spruce up the level; didn't work very well

Well, I would have liked to set up fog around a mansion, only problem is, theres a basement access staircase in the mansion and setting fog on the map may cause the fog to show through the mansions staircase. Any idea how i can prevent this?

That means either:
1- You created the wrong particle by entering the wrong code.
2- The dev's have modified that particular emitter (highly doubtful).
I'd try it again.

Arc 2- The dev's have modified that particular emitter (highly doubtful). They change it all the time.
Right now this code does not work in svn to make fog.
Cheers
