Open Motion Project

Several ACCAD students came together to create a set of motions that are useable for motion for video games, animation, etc. The intent is that these motions are absolutely free to use with no type of restrictions. The students wanted anyone to be able to get their hands on this type of data and use it however they wanted. The data is in both bvh skeletal format and c3d point data format as well.

What do you have to do for you to be able to use them convert them to MD5Anim?

there are two ways to use it. booth need some tweaking as well.

1. you can import the bhv as armature for your model. then turn off some IPO curves you dont need, e.g. location of the hips to stop the movement of the armature. rotate it if needed.

2. if you have already an exisiting armature for your model, import the bhv as emptys, scale and move them that they match size and location of your own armature. than use the copy location and copy rotation contraints to copy the movements of each importet empty to your armature bones.
