For realistic looking animation of models big game companies and animation movie makers use the Motion Capture technologies.

For details read the article below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_capture

Recently Carnegie-Mellon Graphics Lab Motion Capture Database have released 2548 human motions in .BVH file format.

http://sites.google.com/a/cgspeed.com/c ... n-database :D

After scrolling a little bit you'll find the download links there. All the links are in mediafire.

These files can be used in animating the models. I have already used some of them in my models. The instructions to use those files are included, though it's for the 3Ds Max users but you can use them in Blender also. For importing them in Blender you may visit the link below. The script for importing BVH files is included in Blender 2.42a. - 2.46.

http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Exten ... Import/BVH

It's very simple.

1) Create a model.

2) Rigged the model with bones.

3) Import the BVH animation file. (Some time you need to adjust the bones little bit).

4) See your model is animating like a real human.

Here's a Free BVH viewer for you. Before using them just a have look in the animations.

Enjoy your animations!!!!!!! ;)
