Re: Flight Simulator - Idea
Well sounds good!
1. If you have played Battlefront, you'll remember the ships in that allowed first person and third person viewing. That would be a good idea.
2. Having target missions.
What type of planes would there be? Could this be a type of dogfight mode?

Re: Flight Simulator - Idea
1. Is there going to be exhaust are steam trails to give the plane its visual and intuitive feel?
2. Of course gravity is a big aspect of this project so is flying backwards are wheelies a option? "This would also take a lot of camera coding also"
3. If you plan on making bots for this project wouldn't that be difficult since bots only move horizontally?
4. Inside the airplane hud?
5. When I'm saying gravity is a big part I'm talking about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAlLrPnz1QI ignore all the fancy stuff just pay attention to the planes movements.
6. Is it going to be a FPS? shooting machine guns and rockets are like a mini game flying through circles?
that's all the questions and suggestions i can come up with.

Do you have Google Earth? Google Earth has a flight simulator that lets you fly over areas. Maybe you can get some ideas from there?

That huge white cone that appears around the plane is the sound barrier literally breaking... You may want to add that as an amazing effect... The small white streams are water droplets forming on the edge of the wings due to the intense cold.

What about rain, snow, debree in the sky? of course you would have to find a way to stop the particles from going through the model, we already have that delima while making houses with rain . Maybe have the particles bouncing off the model? I don't know how you would acomplish this but it sounds pretty dang cool.

Manouvre Stunts like in H.A.W.X... That allow you to avoid missiles...

Re: Flight Simulator - Idea
Well actually not that much. Keep the camera far enough behind and you can pull built in stunts then. Say side roll, you can roll off to the side without having to move the camera. Then, have the ship shift back until it's back in flying mode.
I think GR1M mentioned flying backwards like wheelies, I think that would be possible (like the reverse flip move?) Just have the camera stay still until the ship fly's above and out of sight of the camera. And then switch back behind the plane again... Wouldn't be too tough.
