2.4, I really like it everything is allot better, The flame particle is one of my personal favorites but a few things are wrong, if you place a smoke particle or flame particle it says unknown alias lookup and your unable to see the particle, And my computer is lagging 10 times worst and it doesn’t help to turn off shaders or turn down the graphics so I’m going to be forced to buy a new computer which I was going to do any way. Overall really good job I haven’t really had time to explore and see what all is new but I’m really happy so far .

Questions:

Why didn’t you make a new GUI Theme for 2.4?

Can you play the RPG on multiplayer?

I noticed when you select a cube in sandbox there's long lines in all directions and it lags really bad how do you turn that off?

the lines are an editmode helper, which is meant to make it easier to know how things align to everything else in the world

/showselgrid 0 to turn it off... there's probably an option inside the F7 menu



the RPG at the moment is SP only... MP might be a possibility for the next update

the engine has a built in video recorder now, so type /movie (outfile) to save it

To turn the recording off, go back to edit mode and type at the command prompt. /movie

I wonder if this screen recorder is less laggy as snagit/camtasia haven’t had the chance to test it out but hopefully tonight

Yeah just tested out the in game video recorder...it doesn’t work tells me i have to low fps...you know what I’m getting 12 gigs of ram when I get my new pc its over kill but i'm tired of this!

it depends on what you're recording
if it's just gameplay, you probably need to upgrade

and if you're editing,you're going to introduce nasty delays while textures and the like are loaded, so you might like to load the textures and models first.
not to mention, on big maps, edits are compute heavy, and that'll cause slowdowns when geometry is modified

Hmm... About the video recorder... Does the video look really blue for everyone? Or just me? Do everyone have that awful quality or is that my computer? The amount of hard drive space it takes is huge!!!! I recorded 45 seconds of video and it was 93.8 mb. Thats extreme! That means when I want to make a movie which is 10 mins long it will be 1.25 gigabytes!!!!!
