Thoughts about the added day and night cycle (+ link)

I saw the vid on youtube and thought I'd like to give my opinion as well as to give other people the option to do so (and maybe watch the vid if they haven't yet)

- I think the sun in the skybox kind of ruins it here, you could use another skybox, but for an example I think you should've changed it
- The sun needs sunflares to make it look better
- What about a different skybox at night instead of just pitch black darkness?
- There should be a moving sun (or sun flare) and a moving moon to enhance the feeling of a day and night circle

The art we have sports the sun and clouds baked into the skybox itself; we can't help that.
We do not have any skyboxes suited towards a night sky either.
There's the moon cloudbox and the script does sport suitable illumination for when there's a moon.

Could be done easily enough I think.
But let's get some skyboxes that would work with it first.

I thought there were some from like the island map, but I guess they were under a non-free license =(

I commented on the video using my tablet, but it somehow doesn't show the comment on my computer :o
Nevermind great job merging Tesseract with PAS. This will allow us to have actions of NPC depending on daytime or even quests, where a shadow points to a place during a specific time :D

I want to know how I could implement this in my own game. I don't know where to start, but I'd like to know how.

I would suggest to wait for the next release, which will feature ,besides the day and night cycles, improved shaders merged from Tesseract.
You can try to compile the current SVN yourself, if you don't want to wait (check the wiki).
