When you say Gimp 2, do you mean 2.6? That's the latest stable release.

Any Stable Release you have... If you only have MS Paint, that would work too... I prefer Adobe Fireworks though.... and to prove it... The entire theme there and the 3 Difficulty images were created on Adobe Fireworks CS3.

Maybe as an idea, you only have certain weapons in each mode that correspond to the icons, like the helmet is only in legendary
