New GUIs

Post by chocolatepie33 »

Okay, I took Chaze's basicred GUI and inverted the colors and renamed it electric blue.
I used Gimp and kept transparency.
When I load it in Sandbox, it's OK, but the guioverlay shows NO TEXTURE where there should be a preview pic.
What's wrong with it?
Offtools, I'm counting on you. You helped make the original.

EDIT: If I get this problem fixed, I'm gonna upload these new GUIs to the community. They look pretty cool... So I'm gonna need someone in power to move this topic to custom content.

EDIT2: go to later posts (page 2) for more on this, I'm uploading my broken electric blue gui up, and only that one color cuz of double-naming errors with WinZip. so here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/dfkdx5. I'm hoping Offtools, Chaze or Leo can fix this.

EDIT3: didn't wanna make a new post, I finally got the GUIs fixed, here's the post I put on page 3:
OK, Leo fixed the thing, turns out the overlay part of my .cfgs had an extra blue on the end of each filename (IDK why), but I'll upload them on the first post. It's a .zip file with .zips of each GUI's four parts (I had a double-naming problem), plus I included Leo's icons from his first GUI (the red/white one, NOT Karbon), but those are easily replaceable otherwise. Make sure all the icons are put in a folder named Leo 'cause that's what it says in the .cfgs.
GUIs include:
electricblue (light blue, originally red)
electricorange (light orange, originally blue)
electricpink (neon pink, originally green)
electricdarkblue ( a darker blue, originally yellow)
silver ( originally gray)
and whitefog (originally blackfog; this uses the blackfog icons).
They are here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1c0w1x
Please comment on these, in any way (negative or positive.)

guioverlay is the square that frames a preview picture in the loadmap preview picture screen.

ah I get your problem now... I never knew that had anything to do with the GUI theme...

yeah it does. if you have a blacked out guioverlay with no transparency, it will show the black instead of loading a preview pic for maps.

No, that's for a preview pic. I have issues with the GUI overlay itself.

WHERE ARE YOU OFFTOOLS!?

1. did you get any errors? check console output

2. did you made screenshots? you have to put a screenshot of the theme with the same name like the theme into the hud folder.
e.g. if your themes is named "electric_blue", you have to add an image "electric_blue.png" or "electric_blue.jpg"

btw. dont use whitespaces in filenames, can cause trouble in cubescript.

which version you used SVN or 2.5?

offtools.
