So, if I understand you correctly, your laptop randomly shuts down or logs off (is it both, or just one?) and won't let you turn it back on or log back in for a few hours? :?:

1. Are there any messages that come up when you try to start Windows Live Messenger?

2. Do you remember anything about which buttons you accidentally pushed, like any pictures or menu options?

Okay, I understand you now. :)

1. Please post a dxdiag report here.

---
How to run dxdiag:

1. Click on your start button

2. Type "dxdiag" into the search box (without the quotes)

3. Press the "Save All Information" button and save the report somewhere.

4. Open the report, and select all (ctrl+a), copy (ctrl+c), and then paste it into a response (ctrl+v)

5. Please wrap the report in [ code ] [ /code ] tags (without the spaces)
---

2. You claim to have had no viruses on you computer for a while. Which antivirus program do you use, how often do you update it, and how often do you run a full scan?

3. Do you run anti-malware programs such as or ? If so, how often do you perform scans with them, and how often do you update them?

Omg! Someone can help meh? It doesnt let me make format it says: YOU CANNOT FORMAT THIS VOLUME It contains the version that u are using. Formatting this volume could cause your computer to stop working.

Whoa! You're planning on re-formatting your hard drive? Have you backed anything up yet? Formatting will erase ALL of the data on your computer. You will definitely need to copy over files that you need. You may also want to try and running chkdsk before your try and reformat your hard drive. Also, you may want to scan windows files by opening a command prompt (click start and press the "Command Prompt" button in the menu), then type "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes). I would try the scan first, then the defragmenting, and then chkdsk. ;)
---
To run chkdsk:

1. Click start and go to computer.

2. Right click on the drive you want to check

3. Click on the "Tools" tab

4. Click on "check now"

5. A box will appear. Tick both options.

6. Restart your computer and the disk will be checked on startup. (this may take several hours)
