I know it is possible to create ladders (ones that you can climb too), I just don't know how... That's one of the things I haven't been able to figure out yet... :x

Maybe that's an idea for sandbox 2.6? just like lava, water, noclip, clip, etc climbable blocks (for putting ropes and ladders on it)?

ladders are simple. All you need is steps which are very slightly angled.

Ropes, pretty much just as simple really. You create the rope as you want it, then create steps out of "clip" material like the ladder.

How's that?

I already use that way, but I don't like it for high ladders, any idea?

You can do it with using grid size one blocks and then F + the mousewheel to push it in one unit. That's how it was done on RPG Snow. Someday though we'll have to put in a ladder material. Take care!

I thought Venima meant that, I wanna make a ladder straight up, even if the top of the ladder is really high, so you don't lose space and it looks better, and I can make a ladder with the object ladder (f1)

ladders rarely go straight up in real life. They're generally angled so that by climbing up them you don't make them fall backwards. However...

You could make a straight up ladder by using a series of teleports or jumppads going up vertically. Alternatively, a method which is still used in some 3d games just add a trigger which teleports you to either the top or bottom depending on which you are already.

I know that ladders don't go straight up, but I can only make an object rotate at y, not at x, so the y-top stays the same, so I can't use that in my maps...
