How do I create a custom made Monster?

Post by Jamezo97 »

Hi,
I am trying to make a monster. I have got an md3 file and I have got the texture and the config file. I have put them all into a folder in the "/rpg/characters" folder.
Now all i need to do is to find the file where all of the creatures are stored and add in mine there. BUT... I can't find it. I have looked everywhere for it. Searched my whole hard drive but alas, i cannot find it.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 not Windows XP, which is why i cannot find it.
So, does anyone know where I can find it? It would be REALLY appreciated!
Thanks

Jamezo(It ain't my real name :D)

I don't fully understand the question or even know which game mode you're working in. Take care.

if you are looking for a place to put your creature
try going to .platinumarts in your stuff. (get to your stuff by typing cd ~ in the command prompt) if that doesn't work it should be in the /opt folder somewheres.

if you want to add your creature to the list of creatures, try modifiyng the mymap-art.cfg file, and adding yuor creatures location. my bro did it.
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report

I'll try to explain this better then...

You know how in the FPS mode. You can load a "Monster" entity. And how you have got a butterfly, and a rock golem and a wolf .etc. And how they all chase you when you walk in front of them?
Well, I am trying to make one of my own. I have got all of the necessary files. I have put all of the necessary files into the right place.
But, I know that I have to edit some sort of configuration file and tell the config file where my creature is, and how big it is, and how fast it moves etc.
But I don't know where that configuration file is. It's not in my map's configuration file. That just contains all of the mapmodels, not creatures.
So, does anyone know where the configuration file is that I need to edit?
I hope that makes more sense.

the file SHOULD be in the rpg/monsters folder or whatever it is, saved as a .cfg.

Do you also want to play as the monster? Errr....I'd suggest placing it in Ogre/RC's folder in packages.
